Most passenger vehicles today are designed with a unibody frame rather than the classic body-on-frame found on older vehicles. Although unibodies are lighter, they were mainly designed for impact absorption so that damage could be isolated into certain areas of the car body. With this in mind, a unibody vehicle would not be suitable for handling because of its natural tendency to flex while cornering. 2 point rear strut braces merely tie up the two shock towers together resulting in the towers moving in unison under hard cornering, which still allows room for unibody flex. By adding a second bar which closes the two opposite corners of a triangle, the shock towers are locked into place for proper weight transfer while cornering. This bar will make 2 point rear strut bars obsolete.
This bar is a direct bolt on for Honda Civic 1992-1995 EG Hatchback.
It will also fit Honda Civic 1996-2000 Hatchback with a small modification, you need to extend the upper connection by placing a small bushing/washers on the installation point and use a longer bolt. This is not included.
